Ive been borrowing dvds from Mubina... I get the living room all to myself from abt 11.30pm onwards and I fairly enjoy the quiet time I get to have.. being able to lie down on the sofa with all the lights off, watching a dvd with a cup of tea or hot chocolate...
When I was in Mubina's room deciding which dvd to choose.. I couldn help but choose The Notebook again.. I watched it in december last year and now am watching it again, totally different state of mind.. but it hit home just the same...

What follows on in this scence is one of two parts of the film that I absolutely love... ♥
This scene shows Noah rowing this boat, wanting to show Allie this beautiful part of the river that is filled with dozens and dozens of white ducks... and its absolutely breathtaking...
The other part of the film that I love and just makes me tear each time.. has to be the last scene... the one where they are both wrinkly and old.. Noah sneaks into Allie's room to see her and she remembers him. Allie suffers from senile dementia so she cant remember who Noah is most of the time.. but at that very moment.. she remembers him..
Allie says to Noah, "Do you think our love can take us away together?"
The following morning, the nurse finds them both, in each others arm, cold to the touch..
and that.. just triggers something in me.. honestly.. I dunno what it is.. I start tearing.. okay I start weeping.. (:
And my favourite quote of the movie has to be.... this is when Noah finds out that Allie has left for New York...
"Summer romances end fo all kinds of reasons. But when all is said and done, they have one thing in common: they are like shooting stars, a spectacular moment of light in the heavens, a fleeting glimpse of eternity. And in a flash, they're gone."
Boy.. arent I a sucker for romance.. this has to be my all time favourite movie... sorry for being all soft and mushy and all sentimental here (: a love story like that just gets me all soft and lumpy... ♥
Only this movie has brought a tear to my eyes everytime Ive watched it.. and there's only one song that can do the same....
