*Diary of CHubs in Glasgow*

31st December 2006

Well, a lot has happened since I've last blogged for Chubs... I would have thought that, the diary of Chubs in Glasgow would have been done by Chubs himself.. but he's just not cut out for blogging.. so i would just have to do it for him.. humph.....

Just before Christmas eve, from the 21st to the 23rd of Dec, Chubs and I travelled to Edinburgh to meet Auntie Betty who kindly put us up for 2 nights, provided our meals and all. We ventured into the heart of Edinburgh by bus and walked the streets of Edinburgh... Auntie Betty took us to Blackford hill, which is a must go place for anyone who comes to Edinburgh. From the top, the view is spectacular....


Oh and Chubs could not get over how dirty the cars were in Edinburgh haha... and of course, how can we not have our Starbucks.. hee.. stopped by starbucks along the Royal Mile for Chub's ToffeeNut Hot Chocolate and my fav Chai latte.. yumzzz... oh and dis starbucks had a wee mini Jenga for us to play with while waiting for our drinks hee...



We took the train down to my Auntie's place on Christmas eve.. had a bit of a boo boo but managed to get there safely hee....
Christmas day was great... the food was to die for, Turkey with all the trimmings.. yums... Grandpa was there too =)


We opened our presents, had our dinner, basically ate our way through the day...
Oh and Auntie Valerie and Uncle Robert bought me a cake too hee...



Me on my birthday.. hee... (mummy and papa --> the dress I bought hee.. nice??)

The cake was suppose to be a surprise though ahha.. but i kinda spoiled the surprise when I found the cake haha... =) but it was good cake...

I was in charge of the Boxing Day meal... me!!! gosh.... I had my little helper though.. who was hard at work, chopping garlic, washing the dishes as the came and tasting the food as it cooked haha.... (auntie = Jon is trained at chopping garlic now... plus washing dishes haha.. no excuse not the help when he gets back hee...)



The meal was a success.. hee everyone loved the food hee.. phew... was a huge relief for me.. (=

Had a small surprise that I had been planning for CHubs too.. hee... surprised him with a box of Krispy Kremes... all thanxs to Fong Yu.. friends from across the block hee.... Brought it back from London for me.. hee..

CHubs and I got tickets to watch a pantomime in GLasgow from my Auntie and Uncle for Christmas... Aladdin... It was so good haha.. was laughing out way through most of it. hee.. It was a very interactive show, we had to sing along, talk back to the actors, booed the evil magician, sing and dance too haha.. CHubs couldn stop singing after.. =( poor ears...





Oh and on our way back, we stopped at this chinese place for supper haha.... hmmmm missing the food from home.. Chubs cant stop saying how he misses his Jalan Sultan Prawn Mee or Katong Hor Pau... Argh!!!!!!



We're going to Glasgow's Hogmanay 2006 Party tonight!! Whee~~~~ hee.... Gonna count in the New Year @ George Square this year.. something different...hee

Hopefully it'll stay dry tonight.. has been raining on and off all day...
Before I go make Chubs his Sheperd's Pie that he has been asking for all day and all night... I wanna wish everyone

Been following X Factor for awhile now.. and on Saturday they finally announced the winner.. Lenoa Lewis.. I think she's juz amazing.. week after week she sings songs that amazes me... and she's onli 21!!...

*Diary of Chubs in Glasgow*

20th December 2006

Had a slow start to the day, eventhough we got up at 9.. had a long slow breakfast =) and kinda dozed back to sleep after.. haha.... didn sleep till like 3 the night before.... Chubs was sleeping so soundly by 1.30am.... yawnz.... got up at like 12 again.. watched a bit of tv and headout to subway for lunch.... Was desperate for Starbucks today... dunno why haha... so went to the one in borders... nice gal that served us couldn stop talking to us eventhough there was like a long queue behind haha... Chubs being Chubs.. ordered a frap... I mean.. who would order a frap in the middle of winter?? haha... onli his truely would.. haha and obviously his fingers were freezing while walking back.. hee.. I've just fallen in love with Chai tea.. juz love it... cant stop drinking it =)

Btw.. Chirstmas Shopping DONE... for now.. wheeeee... spent the whole afternoon wrapping and tagging presents while Chubs got really bored and started playing with the cardboard... first he wanted to fence... den he wanted to play star wars... after tat he wanted to be some kung fu hero... i dunno wad got into him but it was like he was super high on sugar.... haha... i was in tears by the end of it all.....

I needed eggs to make dinner... so we took a stroll down Buchanan Street down to Argyl Street to the German Christmas Market... Chubs wanted to buy fudge back as presents... small market though... wasn't that interesting... most of the stalls was selling food.... it was a cold evenin though and again Chubs being Chubs.. thinking he was superman.. went out in just his trackies and slippers.. to be fair he wore a thick jacket.. but half way out his toes were freezing!! -serves him right i say... i did warn him-

Went to tesco to get eggs and rice for dinner... and had to run straight home... poor Chubs was frozen haha....

Oh well..CHubs made me study while he read his boring book again but fell asleep soon after... its now 9.25pm and Chubs has been asleep since 8.50pm!!!! while i have been mugging away.. sobz...

Jess jus knocked on my door and gave me my christmas and birthday pressie!! haha.... She gave me a new pan!!! haha.... no one has ever given me a pan before!! =)

She's leaving Glasgow tmr.. how time flies.. It juz seems like yesterday that i first met her and her bf... oh well, she cant wait to get home too... at least she survived my cooking all these while haha... All the best to u Sico =)

We'll be heading across to Edinburgh tmr for 3 days.. and den to my aunt's place for Chirstmas eve, day and boxing day... so will onli be able to continue dis diary after we return on the 26th.....

*DIARY OF CHUBS IN GLASGOW*

18th December 2006

Chubs arrived in Glasgow yesterday at Glasgow International Airport and me being Leslie, was running late coz she missed the bus that was suppose to bring her there on time! hee... but.... she managed to get there before Chubs came out of the gate hee...
Didn do much yesterday though coz Chubs was pwetty tired from the travelling plus both set of parents were calling us on skype wanting to know if dear Chubs had arrived or not...
Did a bit of shopping yesterday though haha... bought 1 Christmas prestnt though ahha... well its a start... =)
Chubs started reading his book (b-o-r-i-n-g) and due to jet-lag, dozed of at 9!!... yes mom, 9!! but i couldn sleep, it was far too early... ended up doing a psychology essay hee.. Question 3 done!! wheee~~~~

(Some book called the Eldest.. suppose to be the sequel to Eragon.. hmmm dunno wads so interesting abt it.. )

19th December 2006

Got rudely awoken at 6.30am in the morning by a certain individual... 6.30am!!! argh....
Wanted to watch "Happy Feet" today!!! =) went to buy tickets before going to get some lunch...

(Check out the amount of candy they sell at the cinema.. and its like that for every single floor!!)

Went to Tinderbox for lunch, wanted Chubs to try the best white hot chocolate ever!! haha... =)

Oh after lunch while we were going back to the cinema, I spotted the Grinch!!!... Chubs decided that he had to take a picture of her... the Grinch was across the street from us and was walking damn fast... we actually ran after her for 2 blocks, ran across 2 busy streets just to take this picture.. hmmmm
See.. its the Grinch!!! she was wearing green all over haha.. from head to toe...

Did more shopping after the show.. bought myself a birthday dress from Zara hee... bought presents for Alistair, Grandpa and my uncle.. hmm think that's everyone covered. Was suppose to go to Asian Style for prawn mee.. BUT.... as usual someone fell asleep again... and didn wake till 9pm.. so had maggi mee and macaroni for dinner with some super tastless oranges... bleahz...
So its 1.25am in the morning now... and I am wide awake while Chubs is snoring away in la la land... haiz... Not sure wad we are going to do tmr though.. hmmm.. more shopping maybe??? hopefully prawn mee too... sobz...

10 days to CHRISTMAS gosh and I'll be a year older again haha.. starting to dread birthdays haha..

Did some food shopping today... dunno why i was stressed out with that, got to cook for Jess and her bf over the weekend, then cook for 4 ppl on monday haha we'll see how it goes =) brought Tina to Chuny Ying (the chinese supermarket that she calls Chinatown haha) and she bought like 10 packets of Mee Goreng to bring back to Italy haha she bought a bottle of soya sauce back too and was so happy skipping along the street saying how Singaporean she is haha.. Italians bleahz..

Got tons of errands to do over the weekend, laundry, clean my room, stock up on food, bits and pieces here and there, at least everyone is going home tmr so I should manage to get everything done quite quickly.

Grandpa is doing better =) he'll be joining us for Christmas which is nice and his present is the only one that I have bought so far haha... Oh I bought something small for my dad as well not gotten for Mummy or Alistair though... got to look for something.. Dad's are so easy to please =)

Oh well, everyone in the flat is busy packing their suitcases... Probably head to the gym, last few sessions of the year... =( Dun wanna get all chubby again like last time hee...

IDIOTS !! ~

Talk abt having some uninterupted sleep... or the lack of it for that matter....its 1.20am in the morning and I've just got back into my flat coz some idiot from downstairs hit the fire alarm by accident. (not a happy chappy as u can tell) Its 1 degree outside now and I was standing outside in the cold with my PJs and slippers and a coat on, freezing my tush off... It took the firemen quite a while to fix and reset the alarm and the security guards on duty werent too happy. Thank god he sent everyone who didn live in this building home.. haha Steph, Sophie and I were sound asleep in la la land when the alarm went off, Elise just got into bed and Jess was doing her work, so none of us were too happy when it went off as u can imagine.. Tina.. well wad can i say she wasen ard.. probably at some party as usual hee... Brrrr feet are still frozen!! must remember to put on some socks in future haha...

Well since I got rudely woken up and can't really fall back to sleep now, I thought i would just blog abt it..

Went Christmas shopping today, or at least tried... Glasgow was swamped with people.. There were people everywhere! Queues in everyshop, Glasgow was mobbed!!! Left the house at like 10.30am and by the time we got back it was nearly 4 in the evening and the sun had already set which didn help. Didn manage to buy much though, only Grandpa's present, well coz it was the easiest to get. Bought wrapping paper and cards to go along haha.. Planning ahead here haha... No gifts to wrap the paper with yet haha...

Chubs will be playing his third day tmr in Doha. Doing quite well for someone who has not been training as much as he should and has not been in a competition in 4 months.. Like he said, tmr is the day where they kick some ass... and i hope u guys do.. will be keeping check! *winkz*

Gosh, with all the commotions, it kinda woke me up.. Nothing much has been happening in the flat, just the usual. Trying to study as much as I can before Chub arrives. Jess is buried with tons and tons of work too.. Most of my flatmates will be heading home for Christmas on the 16th so the flat will be basically occupied by just us two over the weekend, oh and maybe Jess's bf. =)

Everyone at home seems to have finished their exams while I am left to study for them.. At least the time table for the exams are out.. Mine looks.. wad can i say.. hmmm...

10th Jan - Applied Statistics (dun ask why I am doing this module)
12th Jan - Psychology for Sports and Exercise
15th Jan - Functional Anatomy of the Skeletal Muscles
19th Jan - Introduction to Forensic Science (elective module)

Well there goes my christmas holidays.. thank god I've got chubs to help me haha.. share a little of his knowledge...

Was concentrating hard on my work when I got a file sent to me on msn from Tina.. haha found it quite amusing...

Dun think i ever want this 'Santa Claus' to ever come and send me gifts.. kinda scary looking dont u think haha.. sorry tina.. hee..

Weather here has been quite sh*tty as usual.. more rain, no shine.. how dull can it get... I sometimes just wish it would snow make everything look pretty.. =)

Hope Val has a great time in Germany... its gonna be pretty cold, but nice to be able to snuggle up to someone =) I'm sure you'll be having one the best Christmas you'll ever have...

Oh well.. break time over I guess back to whatever it was I was reading before.. haha

Muppets!!

Another wet windy day... one tat never fails to make u feel miserable... =(

Had one of the worst nite of sleep ever.. Think the girls downstairs were having a party... Shouting and screaming all night long for god knows what reason, banging and slamming doors like nobody's business, shooting fireworks out of their flat (juz a reminder, their flat is just below ours!).. TWATS!! they are the most inconsiderate, obnoxious , idiotic, mindless, annoying bunch of mingers i've ever come across.. honestly.. they drive me up the wall.. countless sleepless nights from their screaming and slamming of doors. ARGH!!!!!!!!

It didn really help that i had a full day of lectures today as well.. Gosh, with exam round the corner u would think ppl would start buckling down and get down to work... how wrong was I....

Anyway.. on a happier note.. at least December is here... FINALLY.. November seemed forever... Christmas spirit is definitely in the air in the streets of Glasgow... George Square is just lovely... all the lights, the big tree.. the atmosphere is just great, except for the sh*t weather though.. hmmm.. Have not got round to take a picture of it yet.. will have to remember to do that...

Have to start Christmas shopping as well soon, i think i'm already way behind everyone. Everyone carrying huge bags of goodies... so hard.. use to be mummy's job getting the gifts. Now its all left to me!!... boo... what to buy for who... so hard...

Going paintballing tmr.. dunno whether i'm looking forward to it or not. Going as a favour for Elise (my french flatmate), her friends couldn make it, last minute thing, needed ppl to go so i said i would. Argh.. bruises... i hate them..

Oh i've got another collection to my "Attack of the Cones" series.. not sure which part am i at now haha.. lost track. Was walking through town and spotted it!! haha...

To Key, Priscy and Val... Hope u guys have a great time at the bbq! all the ballies back again.. sorry i cant give u guys any christmas pressies this yr... think the postage will be more expensive than the presents itself haha... no $$$ also =(

Well guess i have been rambling on far too much tonite.. poor chubs was suppose to speak to me after he came back from the show, but i ended up going to the gym and he couldn keep his eyes open just now.. was desperate for his bed... aww... sleep tight baby... (p.s: enjoy ur dinner tmr.. will be thinking and feeling damn bloody jealous, while i get hit in the head with paint balls.. )

Rain rain go away...

Studying never fails to dulls one's life doesnt it....

So much to do, so little time... Exam time-table is finally out.. get it over and done with in a week. which is good i guess..... but WHY... why must they have it after christmas, where they know perfectly well that no one studies during the christmas holidays... how dumb is that.... -ARGH!!-

everyone at home are in the midst of exams, get to have a stress free holiday period.. sobz.. Chubs just sat his last paper today.. and mine has not even started.. Studying has though but exams are not for another 5 weeks or so..

Haven even started Chirstmas shopping yet.. should really get cracking.

Went to the doctors on thursday (once again, thankz chubs for making me go). Suffered a sprained muscle in my leg, thats why i haven been able to run for the past 2 weeks.. sobz.. was given anti-inflammatory pills. seems to have cleared up.. tried running on the treadmill today, was still a bit tender but getting there. i miss running.. Less den 3 weeks to shape up!!! hee...

16 more days!!

Ice-skating ring and ginormous christmas tree is up on George Square, but with the crap weather that we've been having, who would wanna skate in gale force winds and rain.. =(

Chubs will be away in a few days to Doha, which means i wont get to speak to him as often as i wish. Hate it when he's away. I hope he does well at the games.. says his game has been picking up.. so proud of my Chubs.. muackz... good luck to all the athletes i know who's competing in Doha...

Oh well back to books and notes now i guess.. raining outside as usual with people from downstairs blasting cheezy music.. hall life.. wth.. haha think i cant live without the sun.. rain just depresses me.. and with it getting dark at 4 now, its juz a nightmare.. i miss the sun...

We braved stormy weather, heavy rain, gale force winds just to go to the gym... tat is why we were all covered up in our raincoats!!
Its like a hurricane has hit Glasgow!!!.... WET WINDY AND well WET!!!
Dis is wad happens to girls who drink coffee before going to the gym... even after 2 hours in the gym, coffee is still in our system...

Chubs... i will never try to do the things u do .. haha does not work for us as u can tell haha.. no more coffee before the gym from now on... trust me... it does mysterious things to u...

Best Christmas yet???

CHRISTMAS has always been special for me... not only does my birthday fall on it, but it has always been a special day.. For the past 21 years of my life, christmas has always been spent with loved ones, and in Singapore where its nice and warm.

This year, however, I'll be spending it here, in Scotland, in Glasgow. Away from my family, away from my friends... But with another family, my auntie, uncle, grandfather and cousins...

I was somewhat looking forward to a traditional Christmas in Scotland... After having a bad month with my grandfather being sick and all.. I think we will get to see him for Christmas as well =)...

But the best news was yet to come....

to hear Chubs telling me he's coming over to spend Christmas and New Year with me, just made my year complete. The countdown has already begun...

MORE DAYS!!!

Spending Christmas with Chubs is one of the best present i could ever ask for.. and to welcome in the new year with him at the Hogmanay Concert at George Square in Glasgow is an added bonus... I'm dead excited.. planning where to go, where to eat.. gosh a month to go.. how cool will it be!! The icing on the cake would really be if we had a white christmas dis year.. tat would be absolutely brilliant...

Thinking of places to go.. Edinburgh to see the castles, of course the old golf course in St Andrews (think i will get slaughtered if i dun take him there), hopefully squeeze in London (fingers crossed baby)...

It'll be nice to have someone to cuddle up too while we countdown into the New YEar in the freezing cold haha...

Turkey, stuffing the whole works gosh I really cant wait... I get to see my baby after so long.. (well not seen him for abt 4 months, long enough).. hee... Everyone here is excited abt him coming over also... it'll be a great experience for him too! Scottish Christmas.. Got my countdown sheet all printed out, blue-tagged onto the wall (i knoe, me kiasu)

We cant stop talking abt it too.. haha everytime we speak, there's always something abt the trip..

The worst worst ultimate worst part is.. EXAMS STARTS AFTER CHRISTMAS!!!! which means i got to study as well while he is here.. sobz...

Yes MUMMY!!.. I knoe i need to study as well.. dun worry i bet u chubs won let me off as well.. =(

What could i ask for more this christmas... Eventhough i wont be home, I'll have someone close to home with me.. *hugs*

Oh and hopefully by the time Chubs gets here we can go ice-skating on George Square.. How nice would tat be... Never skating outdoors before..

Awww i really really really cant wait...

Dundee-Michelle's 21st/College Reunion

Went to up to Dundee yesterday.. was suppose to have a day and nite out wif just jacqui and lauren.. but was invited to michelle's 21st.. It was good to see everyone again.. Felt to weird to be back in Dundee... so many memories i have of tat place... cant believe i lived there for 2 yrs!!... Didin have time to go back to good old 2 Adelaide Place though (where i use to live =)) took the first train back today.. just got too many things to go.. Took some photos though at the party but realised i didn take any wif Michelle haha the birthday gal... Everyone was steaming drunk!! gosh... haven seen tat in ages haha... Came back to the flat and had to share the floor with Lauren haha it was sooo cold last nite too.. had to snuggle up beside her haha.. dear oh dear.. think chubs got a teeny wee bit jealous.. *winkz* well here are some pictures i took.. didn take much though ahah wasen in the mood for pictures hee.. have to steal pictures from whoever was taking.. =)








Dear LAuren was soooo drunk.. kept taking pictures over and over again coz they werent good ended up wif like so many of the same ones haha...

Ohhh we went to the Overgate (one of the 2 shopping centres in Dundee) and LAuren and Jaqui brought me to see my poster haha they made me take a picture beside it.. I was Sooo embarrassed!!! everyone was looking and pointing.. "oh tats the gal from the poster!" gosh haha we snapped a few pictures and i ran wif my head down haha...

Well didn have much sleep last nite, as we were busy fighting over the one duvet haha.. ended up sleeping like at 4 in the morning and had to get up at 8 to catch the 8.45am train dis morning... cant wait to speak to chubs again.. plus i need to shop for food. haven done tat in like 2 weeks gosh...

*faster eat ur dim sum and come home!.. U better not brag abt it and tell me how good it was...humph*

Back to normal....

Gosh... cant believe 2 weeks has flown by just like that... been travelling on the bus so much this 2 weeks.. Finally said goodbye to my mom and dad at the airport today. Was kinda hard to say goodbye.. wanted to leave with them as well... knowing that i won be back for so many more months juz... juz seems like ages.... Oh thats a picture from outside Jess's window.. the starting signs of autum.... at least the tress still has its leaves...

I wanna give my heartfelt thanxs to everyone who has sent me kind words and words of support... u guys have really been nice to be during my hard times...

My grandfather is better than last week... he has been moved back to his own little town now.. but the thing he needs most now is company. sobz.. was hard to say bye to him today.. We know he will be around for a while just dunno how long for.. its like a waiting game... but tats how its like with old ppl innit? Cant wait to see him for Christmas.. eventhough he wont be at the dinner table.. i'm sure he'll be glad to have everyone by his bedside during christmas...

Oh hey Bestie.. thanxs for the ecard... was a nice thing to come home to today.. =) Hope things are well over on ur side... Exam period coming up... good luck to the both of u ya... let me know how u guys get on.. missing u guys loads...

Dear Chubs... hey... i'm sorry i was not sensitive enough to notice tat something was wrong and tat u are going thru a rough patch too... Like i said to u... eventhough i'm not physically there for u, i'm always just a phone call away.. life can be a pain at times... we've all had our ups and downs... i cant do anything to change it, but i can be here to help u thru it okay?? suffer now enjoy later ya... i promise.... =)

Right see the pictures below...no idea why jess took pictures of the light switch and the light but... focus on the door.. haha.. see how it has been all taped up??? Well.. urs truely got locked in the toilet TWICE on the SAME day... The stupid lock broke.. haha... so now we all have to shower without the door closed.. haha... with a note outside saying "I'm in the shower" haha...

Well thats all for now i guess... got to hit the books tonite.. have been addicted to coffee to keep me awake... am just glad everyone has found someone that has made them happy... coz i know i have... (except my poor little brother hee... ) back to my normal routine and schedule again..

Random post...

I know I've broken my vow in keeping my blog updated... schorrie... =( Just haven had the time and recently the energy to do anything... so just writing a random post, to let u know i'm still alive.... (chubs, i will keep my promise dun worry)....

Back at my auntie's place again for the weekend. At least my dad came to pick me up this time round, dont have to get the bus.. Bus rides are so boring. Will be at the hospital again over the weekend. Brought work to do. need to study.. am so lost with some modules.. gosh they are way harder than i ever though.. jus got to read away...

School work has been piling up, laundry has not been done.. argh.. everything is just falling behind coz i have let it.. i;ve just lost that driving force that i had.. need to get it back and fast.... ahh hai.. wish chubs was here. I jus wan that someone to be beside me, to tell me everything will be okay (eventhough there will be a good chance it will not be).. just to make me feel safe and secure again... sometimes u try to be the most independent person u can be, but at the end of the day, u stil need someone to fall back on... and my someone happens to be miles away.. =( i miss u chubs.... thanxs for re-assuring me. i really needed to know...

i guess i am just in a reminiscing mood.. thinking about things... old things, new things... things to come??

Wonder how long my grandfather will be in this state, one day he can be all fine and dandy, giving u the impression he is getting better... other days he is just not himself. Talking to ppl who arent there, comin up with werid stories, being all confused just so not like him... Its times like tat that makes it hard for us close to him to see him like that.


Dear Key... hope u got my little posti that i tried to sent. not sure if it got there. Coz after writing on the envelope, i realised tat i had to write ur name instead of wad i wrote in the first place!! hee.. so had to squeeze it at the top.. hope it got there safely though.... i've been missing u... =(

On a sad note...

Haven had time to blog a post in a long while.. and unfortunately this one will not be a happy one.. =(

My grandfather's health has taken a turn for the worst. Have been travelling up to my auntie's place to see him as much as I can... THis weekend, next weekend..

Good thing is i get to see my parents at the end of the week, Saturday. THey're coming over to see my Grandfather. Even though its not the happiest of times visit, but I guess i get to see them again in a short period of time... =)

Dunno if he will pull thru, but we're all hoping for the best...
Praying that he will no longer be in pain....

HELLO!!!!.... in quite a hyper mood now.. dunno y haha maybe coz of tat funny conversation i had with chubs a minute ago haha... anyways my room got invaded by Jack from downstairs.. juz walked into my room, being his usual busy body self... at least he's gone now.. Went to library to study and finish my turtorials for this week. Valentina gets bored so easily.. kept asking when are we leaving.. hmmmm... at least we spent about 2 3 hrs there.. haha... not bad eh Mummy... haha (my mom reads my blog see *hello haha*)
My dad will be flying off to India tmr for work!!Leaving my poor mother by herself aww... haha have fun!! and a safe journey!!! =)

Had a nite out on Friday.. a short nite out. Went to an irish pub, Wax house or wadever haha didn quite catch the name. didn stay long though as we were suppose to head to a house party. some party is was too.. couldn even get thru the front door. haha decided to head back down to the student union. but was too tired so didn bother and came straight home.. hehe... oh the funny looking ppl are french haha.. cant take a straight picture them two..



Met with my cousin, Laura and her mother-in-law (who is like 80 but has super dress sense) on sat for lunch and walk about town.. Laura gave me a wee bunch of lavender to put in my room *thanxs!* oh and while we were walking about on Buchanan street there were red indians playing music on the street. dressed in the costumes and all.. haha were amused by them, so many ppl stopped to listen as well.. Reminded me of that Disney film, Pochahuntas. Love tat film but never quite managed to catch the sequel to it.. hmmm





Monday is here again.. gosh time really flies here. Have been back for a month already.. shucks... times sure does fly when u got plenty of things to do...

Oh on a sad note.. I hope my grandpa gets better.. he's in hospital now, been there for nearly 2 weeks now.. sobz.. i wish and pray that he gets better... =(

Those who were born in the 70s & 80s

I dunno if u guys have ever read something like this before.. Juz a random post,thought of sharing. When I read it, it brought a smile to my face =) and fond memories...

The good old days... For those who were born in the 70s and 80s. Fond memories..
1. You grew up watching He-man, MASK, Transformers, Silver Hawk, and Mickey Mouse. Not to forget, Ninja turtles, My Little Pony and Smurfs too.

2. You grew up brushing your teeth with a mug in Primary school during recess time. You will squat by a drain with all your classmates beside you, and brush your teeth with a coloured mug. The teachers said you must brush each side 10 times too.

3. You know what SBC stands for.

4. You pay 40 cents for Chocolate or Strawberry MILK every week in
class.

5. You watch a very popular Malay dubbed Japanese drama on RTM1 about
schoolgirls who possess powerful skills in volleyball called Meoro Attack.

6. You find your friends with pagers and handphone cool in Secondary
school.

7. SBS buses used to be non-air conditioned. The bus seats are made of
wood and the cushion is red. The big red bell gives a loud BEEP! When
pressed. There are colourful tickets for TIBS buses. The conductor will
check for tickets by using a machine, which punches a hole in the ticket.

8. Envelopes given to us to donate to Sharity Elephant every Children's Day.

9. You've probably read Young Generation magazine. You know who 'Vinny' the
little vampire and Acai the constable.

10. You were there when they first introduced MRT here. You went the
first ride with your parents and you would kneel on the seat to see the
scenery.

11. Movie tickets used to cost only $3.50.

12. Strawberry ShortCake and Barbie Dolls fascinate Gals.

13. You learn to laugh like The Count in Sesame Street.

important plants of our lives, guppies and swordtail being the most
important fish.

26. Who can forget Ahmad, Bala, Sumei and John, eternalized in our
minds from the textbooks. Even Mr Wally & Mr. Yakki. What about Miss Lala???
And Zaki and Tini in Malay Textbooks?

27. We carry out experiments of our own to get ourselves badges for
being a Young Zoologist/Botanist etc.

28. Every Children's day and National day you either get pins or pens
with 'Happy Children's Day 1993' or dumb files with 'Happy National Day
1994'.


29. In Primary six you had to play buddy for the younger kids like big
sister and brother.

30. We wear BM2000, BATA, or Pallas shoes.

31. Your form teacher taught you Maths, Science and English.

32. The worksheets were made of brown rough paper of poor quality.

33. You went to school in slippers and raincoat when it rained, and you
find a dry spot in the school to sit down, dry your feet, and wear your dry
and warm socks and shoes.

34. School dismissal time was normally around1 pm.

35. There would be spelling tests and mental sums to do almost
everyday.

36. Your friends considered you lucky and rich if your parents gave you
$3 or more for pocket money everyday.

37. You see Wee Kim Wee's face in the school hall.

38. You freak out when the teacher tells you to line up according to
height and hold hands with the corresponding boy or girl.

39. Boys like to catch fighting spiders.

40. Collecting and battling erasers was a pastime for boys.

41. Autograph books were loaded with "Best Wishes", "Forget Me Not",
and small poems like "Bird fly high, hard to catch. Friend like you, hard
to forget".

42. Class monitors and prefects loved to say, "You talk some more, I
write your name ah!"



43. There were at least 40 people in one class.

44. Large, colourful schoolbags were carried.

45. You brought every single book to school, even though there was one
thing called the timetable.

Spread this heart warming message around, you don't get something like
this very often.

How?? Brought back any childhood memories???

FIRE FIRE!!!!

Highlight of this evening... FIRE ALARM WENT OFF!!!!

EVer since I moved into Birkbeck Court.. ppl from downstairs seem to have tat magic touch of setting the alarm off.. And everytime they set it off, 2 fire engines will come, we all got ot evacuate the building and wait outside in the cold while they switch the alarn off..

There are 4 floors in my block and it always is either the first or third floor ppl tat sets if off....




WE got a bit bored while waiting to go back to our warm cosy flat...

Oh and guess wad set the alarm off.... someone spraying air freshener!!!

ooo remember I took a picture of a CHUBB fire extinguisher when i was down in the laundry room.. haha well Jon took a picture of this van in Singapore haha... guess they have the same company there as well!! hee....
