Edinburgh Uni's Singapore Society organised a Singapore Food Festival on the 1st of March and invited all Singaporean students studying in Scotland.. and since Damus and Angel have never been to Edinburgh... we thought we would make a day out of it.. Auntie Betty was kind enough to offer us a place to stay....

On our way to Edinburgh on the train*

Auntie Betty, D & A*

Auntie Betty's lovely cottage*

Edinburgh Castle in all its glory*

While walking up the Royal Mile towards the castle.. we walked past a bunch of guys dressed in funny outfits.. with Liverpool Medics written on some of their t-shirts.. they sure did enterain everyone who was walking up the road.. haha..

*My favourite FUDGE shop (: just how I remembered it to be, cant believe it has already been more than a year since I was last in.....

Stopped by a pub for lunch... D & A wanted something Scottish haha so we had Fish 'n' chips ....

.... Breaded Salmon .......

...... Steak and Ale Pie

We climbed up Carlton Hill and boy was it windy... nice view.. first time for me up there as well (:

What else did I miss.. we went to the Scottish Parliment where we sat in the debating chambers for a while and watched a debate by the Youth Scottish MPs which was fascinating... Had nice sunny but chilly weather that afternoon which turned wet and really windy by evening time...

We were all quite tired from all the walking we did by the time we got to the food fest.. Food fest was alright.. nothing to write home abt really... they served us tiny tiny portions. I had a lousy headache by then, Angeline and Damus were spoken to rudely so everyone was not in the best of moods by the end of the night hence why no pictures were taken (: there was a little performance though thats abt it.. we got the next possible train back to Glasgow and straight to bed it was....

And that was my weekend... back to uni.. back to a ton of work waiting for me... it snowed on monday and a bit today... its March and its snowing.. still cant get my head round that...

Strathclyde Union organised a belated Chinese New Year event at the Union on the 26th of Feb.
So out came the qi pao, weather was a bit to cold for a cheong sum even though some girls braved the weather and wore it. (: Event was packed with Malaysians, the Singaporeans went as well including some from Brunei. Food was good. There was a Lion Dance performance and dance performances by groups of kids which was absolutely brilliant (:

Had a blast that night....

Thursday 28th of Feb, Glasgow University organised an event called the Global Village. The whole idea was people from various countries make or cook their national dishes so people like us could have a taste. There was a stall from Singapore and Malaysia as well, side by side.. (: There were far too many people in the small hall. Food went fast so didn get to try everything. We left the place feeling quite hungry and disappointed...

*dont kow which was better haha..

*well as usual... we ended up at Rumours for supper..

When I heard Laura and her husband Rob would be heading to Dumfries to my aunt's, I jumped at the chance for a weekend away... I was desperate to get away this weekend... Didn wanna be at home... Like I've said before.. Im never away from uni.. its the only way to get away from uni.. and of course see my grandfather at the same time..

Took the train from central on Friday, was lucky enough to hit the rush hour. Got to Dumfries, Auntie and Uncle both waiting for me (: straight to dinner with Auntie Muriel and Uncle Raymond (one of my auntie and uncle's oldest friends).. just so happen the place we were having dinner was having a pub quiz as well, won a box of chocolates from the raffle ~!!

Saturday, Rob and Laura drove down from Glasgow. Rugby was on that day. 3 games. Wales vs Italy, Scotland vs Ireland and France vs England... Not quite the rugby fan, Laura and I went to watch a movie instead... Jumper - not a bad film I suppose but not spectacular either, nothing to write home about...

Kiera came over to spend her saturday night with us as well (: got to love her

Decided to go for a walk on sunday with the dog. Wellies were on, all geared up and did this walk.. got lost.. a 45 min walk became a 2 hour hike... both of my ankles were rubbed raw as I was only wearing ankle socks... not gonna show a picture though cos they look manky~! missed my train to say the least so Laura and Rob gave me a lift home (:

Borrowed Remember Me from Angeline on thursday.. Read it on the train down and the rest of it on saturday night... good book but lousy lousy ending.. really wanna know what happens next with Lexy and Jon.. dont like not knowing how things end properly though.. ): but it was an easy read.. a day and a half it took me to complete it. Got to look for another one to keep me company at nights now..

Tmr is gonna be a long long day... Hell this week is gonna be a crazy week... Need to get organised... Fun and games... Fun and games...

The Student Assistants (my non-existent job which I get paid to do) of James Blyth Court (my halls) got together on Wednesday night for a Pot Luck dinner... (:
Julien, Yoon Sim (senior SA), Angela and Sarah (also my gym buddy)....

Yoon Sim brought these along plus a very yummy orange chocolate mousse (forgot to get a picture of it im afraid)

Damus and Angel inspired - minced pork with vege (broccoli this time) kinda put too much mince haha...

Kelvin Tan Kai Wen --> Cereal Prawns, the one I was telling you about...

Angela made Nasi Briyani... oh Sarah made Chicken curry~!! no picture ):

Julien's Salmon and Leek Tart which he made.. even the pastry and by jings! it was tasty.. we were all truely impressed (: Oh Julien is French by the way... and hates cheese haha.. he tells that to everyone...

Thats us trying to explain to Julien the various dishes as the rest of the SA are from Malaysia.. I also made Bak Kut Teh, knew they would appreciate it (:

All in all it was a good night... first time all of us getting together round a table, getting to know each other.. (:

*on a side-note... borrowed a book from Angeline which I cant wait to start.. got the whole weekend to stick my nose into it (: Borders has been promoting it for a couple of weeks now and Angeline bought it and just finished it.. my turn~!! (:

Rubbish Boyfriends - for anyone who's kissed a lot of frogs....

The one who broke you heart

The one all your mates hated

The one you didn't really like until he dumped you

En route to the altar, the chance meetings with all of her exes brings us to the present day - the maternity ward. But one question remains: who's the daddy??

Cheesy as this book might look, I totally enjoyed it having finished it in 2 days. Quite surprising for someone who use to hate reading. Got it at a reduced rate at Tesco on saturday night.. or was it sunday morning... in-between...

Been tossing and turning in bed... tried to have an early night, tmr being a Jordanhill day meaning an early start. Woke up thinking it would be 4 in the morning or something but it was only half one... finished the book instead.

Sleepless nights back to haunt me? Really hope not.
