Paris Day 1 - Disneyland

Grew up watching all sorts of Disney films... and I must say Ive watched almost all if not all of Disney's shows... so we had to make a day for Disneyland. Even though its not the best or the biggest one, its still Disneyland~!! (: ahaha

Eveything looked like it came straight out of a Disney film.. colourful and magical.. The weather was gorgeous as well (: Apart from the screaming, tantrum throwing children that we saw by the hundreds (am not exaggerating mind you), there was so much to do and see, rides to take...

Oh... I forgot to mention that we happened to be on the same flight as the Bruneians so we met in the morning and spent the day at Disneyland together (:

25% student discount - what more could I have asked for haha...

*First stop - Adventure Land

Everything was so expensive... the only thing which we could afford were waffles... so waffles it was for lunch (: god knows what they were up to while I was ordering waffles for everyone

Best Ride of my life~!!! Space Mountain
just to make things clear, only Angel, Chee Hao and I would go for the rides. Mahadir and Damus would gladly wait for us outside haha

This was interesting... I watched "Singing in the Rain" at the Esplanade in Singapore a couple of years ago so I had to get a picture with the umbrella and water sprinklers that came on at random times....
..... and I got stuck for a while under the umbrella... just didn fancy getting wet.. haha

Pink convertible cadillac* wouldn mind having one for myself (:

Arrived at the entrance at 10am (which was when the park opened) and left Disneyland at the bck of 7pm... our feet were aching, we were exhausted, our tummies growling, but all in all, Disneyland was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G ~!

We took the metro back to the station near out hotel, went into this delightful bakery to buy a few cakes and buns. The lady at the shop recommended us this family restaurant just a few minutes walk from where we were... and thats where we had dinner that night.. Bouchon I think the place was called. Tiny place with a very eccentric waiter, but it served the best tasting foie gras I've ever tasted... I had the veal with foie gras sauce which was immense~!!

Clockwish - Roast Duck, Fish with cream sauce, Veal with foie gras sauce, Foie gras, Apple tart with some alcoholic sauce and strawberry sponge cake..

We basically crashed as soon as our heads hit the pillow.. well for me at least haha...had to get all rested as Day 2 in Paris was gonna be a really packed day... (:

Arriving in Paris
Took an afternoon flight from Glasgow Prestwick to Paris Beauvis, landed in Paris at abt half past 6. By the time we got a bus into town from the airport, followed by a long train ride and find our hotel after given wrong directions, by the time we checked into the hotel it was already past 10pm. Tired and hungry, we wondered out in search of food...

Hotel Belfort - cheap, affordable, cosy, not quite the 3 star hotel but it served us well. Paid for a bed and toilet and that's exactly what we got (:

The tiny lift that could only fit 2 people at most...

.... therefore, I took the stairs....

Our cosy little room*

Toilet with a shower that had a mind of its own...

Stumbled upon this nice cozy restaurant that sold French food at an affordable price...

Clockwise - Salmon Pâté, Escargot with garlic sauce, Roast Duck, Veal, Le Royal, Mutton Curry, Chocolate Mousse, Crème brûlée, Crème caramel

Headed straight back to the hotel, tummies filled and satisfed and all set for a full day the next day.... (:

All my bags are packed.... but Im not ready to go.......

Abt a year ago, I was blogging about leaving for Italy... meeting up with Tina, travelling round Italy.. it was great, no doubt abt that.. this year.. Im heading over to Paris.. some might argue that Paris is the most romantic city in the world (well got to be a lamp post as usual and go with a couple.. *oops - sharing a hotel room as well *double oops*)

I thought Rome was amazing... Im hoping Paris will wow me just the same... (:

Was hoping to meet up with Sophie while Im there but Lyon is just a wee bit too far away.. might see Ruey Chen if she manages to come to Paris though.. would be strange haha not seen her in a few years and might just see her in Paris of all places (:

Guess with reports and exams that cover a full year's worth of stuff at the back of my head, doesnt really help put me to ease and allow me to enjoy my holiday.. constantly thinking, "God, Ive got tons to read and do. Do I have enough time..." Been trying to read my notes every chance I get, but its just isnt good enough... Ive set myself a goal and Im just worried that I wont be able to reach it ... I'll have to start camping in the library as soon as I get back..

Disneyland, Louvre, Notre Dame, croissants, baguettes, cheese, wine... god knows what else.. oh right ... foie gras how can I forget (not that I like it though) should be excited abt all of them and Im gonna be..I have to be.... just cant stop worrying abt exams...

damn! Im becoming a stressed-out, worrying old fart.. how attractive

camera isnt working so got to rely on D&A's camera for pictures...

To those having their exams, presentations and projects.. good luck guys... hang in there.. summer hols are just round the corner, sooner u get them over with, sooner u get to relax (:

See u guys in a week*

Take care now ♥

Well the only reason that Ive not updated is becuase.. there was nothing to update on haha.. the last 2 weeks my routine has been waking up fairly early, meeting Lexy for the gym, class/labs, library, home, watch a few shows online and thats me out for the couch... nothing interesting about that is it? (:

But I did go on a road trip last saturday, organised by the uni of course with D&A and Chee Hao to Oban. It was literally a trip to Oban cos we only spend almost an hour and a half in Oban only haha... we were castly spotting along the way, stopping for pictures, walk abt small town which was great.. Beautiful side of Scotland.. the snow-capped moutains, country-side views...

Inveraray - first pit-stop (toilet break actually haha)

This picture is dedicated to Angeline who has always talked abt going to Oban but we never got round to going with her... Classic Angeline hand sign (:

Inveraray Castle

Dunstaffnage Castle - castle 2 for the day (whats left of the castle really...)

Oban
well we were told that Oban serves the freshest seafood so with only an hour and a half we headed for a seafood restaurant after walking ard Oban for a bit.. and found out Oban was tiny! we walked from one end of Oban to the other and back in abt half an hour.. full of seagulls and swans haha that was abt it..

Our seafood lunch... no prizes for guessing who had to go for the crab (:

We were back in Glasgow by 5.30pm which was earlier than what a lot of us had expected but it was a good trip, good way to spend a saturday though.. wont complain abt that. (:

Went to Nandos with the Brunei ppl last night.. never been to Nandos and it was alright I guess haha.. didn expect it to be so far out ... but while walking out of the restaurant we had a shower of hail stones... YES hail stones... in April~!! madness... where's spring, the sun, the flowers, the cool gusty winds ... Im just praying... with a BIG FAT Capital P that when I get back to Singapore I'll get sunshine and heat cos I dont think I'll be able to cope with more rain...

Well monday's here again.. routine starting kinda late today... Spring Hols have just started and it has been awesome to be able to sleep without the alarm clock on... Ive got a trip, 2 more weeks of uni, 6 exams and 4 reports to get over with before I can leave Glasgow for my summer hols..

the joys*
