Helluva weekend I had... Non-stop from the moment I got off the train....

Woke up bright and early to get the first train down to Dumfries. Had to see Grandpa Peacock before I fly home for the summer... and of course the Auntie and Uncle. (:

Saturday was a busy busy day... Uncle Robert was up in Glasgow, @ Hampden Park watching the Scottish Cup Final, Queen of the South (Dumfries team) against Rangers... Grandpa Peacock use to be a season ticket holder to ever QOS game until he got too old to go watch them play. But still a fan. It so happen that Castle Douglas (which is where Grandpa Peacock lives) was having a Food Fair along their main street... its only a small town to main street, not that big compared to the ones u get in SG.. (: bought our lunch and brought it back to Grandpa Peacock's flat to watch the Cup Final game with him...

Just to emphasize how important and exciting this game was, QOS being in the Cup final is a great GREAT achievment. For a team from a small town to get that far is just remarkable.

So ya... went to the food fair with Auntie Valerie and came across this tent with owls and falcons in them.. got to stroke this thing of a beauty....

Final score Rangers 3 - QOS 2, it was such a good game.. to think QOS manage to score 2 goals in 9 mins was just unbelievable... the match was the talk of the town on saturday... Sunday was the team's home-coming...

So Sunday, Auntie Valerie went to church as usual... couldn get up in time to join her but made our way into town after lunch to see the team come back. While we wer waiting for the bus to drive by, there was a raft race which was happening on the Nith River.. it was a charity thing haha.. one raft even had drums on it... none capsized though (: it was a beautiful day...

People waiting along the streets to see their team....

All in their blue and white.... town was as blue as the sky!

Queen of the South Football Team

the whole town was out to support their local heroes

Well we were suppose to go home after that but somehow ended up at the stadium instead hahah....

Talk on campus... library was shut unexpectedly today... reason given - external incident... but u know how it is.. word gets round, ppl see things... police were everywhere, there was a body tent, blood trails.. 2 guys got mugged and another got murdered just by the uni's library, which is like 2 mins from student accomodation... a bit of a shock when we first heard.. it wasn't a student that was killed.. here's the report...

A murder inquiry has been launched following the death of a 38-year-old man in Glasgow.

The man died after a disturbance, involving about 10 people, in a flat on the 22nd floor of a tower block at Taylor Place in the Townhead area. (which is just by the library)

Two other men, aged 18 and 30, are in a serious condition in hospital following the incident, which spilled on to St James Road at about 0040 BST.

A post-mortem examination will examine the exact cause of the man's death.
Police are carrying out forensic inquiries at the scene and are conducting door-to-door inquiries in the area.

Det Insp Andy McWilliam, leading the investigation, said: "I believe there were around 10 individuals, male and female, involved in the disturbance.

"I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the disturbance or who can provide any information which will help us with our enquiries to either phone the incident room or call into the incident caravan and speak to officers personally."
